Vrushika Mehta, a popular actress known for her role in "Dil Dosti Dance (D3)," recently visited Mumbai from Canada specifically to celebrate Navratri. Being a Gujarati, the love for Navratri and garba runs deep in her veins. She believes no celebration is complete without it, as the music energizes her and she is always ready to break into garba at any given moment. Vrushika expresses her excitement for dressing up, meeting friends, and dancing during the festive season. Although she has spent most of her life in Mumbai, she has a wish to experience Navratri in Gujarat, believing it to offer the best vibes for the festival. As a child, she was highly competitive and aimed to win every garba competition during Navratri. Her mother would bribe her with chocolates to ensure she sat still for the traditional three dots on her chin. When it comes to her Navratri look, Vrushika prefers lightweight flared chaniya cholis for comfort and graceful spins. For filming reels, she opts for heavier jewelry for a statement look, but for dancing, she chooses delicate pieces that complement her outfit.Reflecting on her childhood memories of the festival, she recalls, "As a child, I aspired to triumph in every garba competition. Fondly reminiscing about those days, she recounts, "My mother would adorn me in traditional attire and in order to ensure my cooperation while she applied three dots on my chin, she would tempt me with chocolates (laughs). I was exceptionally competitive and resolute on claiming a prize each night. It was all about immersing myself in dance and feeling like a shining little star."

Regarding her preferred Navratri ensemble, she shares, "I adore wearing flared chaniya cholis, but I opt for light ones that are comfortable and enhance the elegance of my twirls. As for jewelry, if I'm recording a reel, I opt for heavier pieces to make a statement. Yet, if I'm set to dance, I opt for more delicate accessories that complement my outfit."

Eagerly anticipating the day when she and Saurabh can revel in Navratri together, she expresses, "'Saurabh (her husband) is an enthusiast of garba, and his style contrasts with mine, a variation I am keen to learn. Regrettably, we have yet to celebrate Navratri together. However, we did partake in garba festivities during my wedding events, which was delightful. I am enthusiastic about the prospect of eventually commemorating Navratri together."

Vrushika shares, "Spinning is definitely my preferred move, accompanied by the lively popatiyu. I also relish incorporating dodhiyu and trikoniya steps for added variety." When asked about her cherished garba song, she remarks, "'Dakla' holds a special place as one of my all-time favorite garba tunes due to its contagious energy. Additionally, I hold great admiration for Falguni Pathak; her songs are iconic and always set the ideal ambiance for Navratri." Recounting a cherished on-set memory related to Navratri, Vrushika reminisces, "During the filming of Dil Dosti Dance, we dedicated half a day to shooting 'Dholi Taro Dhol Baaje,' which was a joyous experience! Our D3 gatherings consistently feature lively garba celebrations."
